Michael A. Gawley
Michael represents healthcare clients with a focus on litigation and dispute resolution. Before joining KGF, Michael practiced law as an associate in the San Francisco offices of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Seyfarth Shaw LLP. While at Kirkland, Michael focused his practice on complex commercial litigation, including antitrust, bankruptcy, securities, and breach of contract. At Seyfarth, Michael handled labor and employment disputes. Michael was selected as a 2016 and 2017 Super Lawyer, Rising Star in Northern California.
Michael graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2013, where he was on the Mock Trial Team and received the Roger and Carol Dreyer Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. At Hastings, Michael received CALI and Witkin Awards for the top grade in five courses: Constitutional Law I, Constitutional Law II, Trial Advocacy, Criminal Procedure, and Judicial Elections (CALI award only). He received his B.A. from Occidental College in 2007, where he graduated with honors. Michael previously served as a judicial clerk to Hon. Socrates Peter Manoukian in Santa Clara County Superior Court. He serves as a volunteer coach for local high school and law school mock trial teams.
